One celebration. Two locations to choose from. The first Sunday of June is National Cancer Survivors Day — a day that is celebrated around the globe. This day honors people living with a history of cancer, celebrates their milestones and recognizes those who have cared and supported them along the way. On this day, the Samaritan Cancer Program will host a free in-person event for cancer survivors and loved ones, in Corvallis and in Newport. The event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. and the program format will be similar at each location. Program Overview: 1 p.m. – Doors open. Enjoy good food, company and more. 1:45 p.m. – Talks start from the cancer care team, survivors and others. 2:15 p.m. – Explore community cancer resources. 3 p.m. – Program concludes. Advance registration is encouraged and can be completed online at samhealth.org/CelebrateSurvivors or by phone at 541-768-2171.
